U.S. cannot be saved completely by the time it gets a vaccine for COVID-19, says Dr. Anthony Fauci. Read on to know the complete details.
Dr. Anthony Fauci has confirmed that he would settle for a vaccine with 70%-75% effectiveness. He also said that this is incomplete protection as many Americans are saying they won’t get a coronavirus vaccine. And that is what decreasing the possibilities of sufficient levels of immunity. He is a director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Fauci Shared, “the clinical trial of three vaccines created for coronavirus are expected to be studied in large-scale in the next three months with government support.”
“Till now we have created a vaccine measles, which is 97 to 98 percent effective. And that is where we are trying to reach for COVID-19 as well. But he doesn’t think we will reach there. He assured that he would settle for 70 to 75 percent effective vaccine., Fauci shared.”
According to the CNN poll, 1/3rd population of America is not planning to get the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available even at a low cost.
On Sunday, The Aspen Institute has an interview with Fauci where he said that “American people will need more education on the issue.”
He continued saying that, “whatever we are doing now to help people to get procured from the virus. It’s safe and effective. And intakes of vaccine by people is good for them as individuals and society.”
As per the discussion with Fauci, the vaccine is expected to be available by early next year.
Fauci also said, “everything is going to be difficult. We have to do a lot of work to educate people about the truth behind vaccines. If anyone thinks it will be easy is not true. It’s going to be difficult.”
“We are developing a program now that would work extensively in reaching out to people communities.”
